COVID-19: PEOPLE HAVE BEEN POISONED WHILE TRYING TO PREVENT DISEASE

People have used horse deworming to prevent and treat Covid-19. This has led to several cases of poisoning.

The Front Line Covid-19 Critical Care Alliance (FLCCC) is an association that was formed at the beginning of the pandemic. It is composed of physicians, researchers and critical care specialists. Its goal is to research and develop protocols for the prevention and care of Covid-19. If animal deworming has been used to prevent and cure infectious disease, it is partly because of the LFCCC.

The association had indeed suggested some effectiveness of ivermectin, a dewormer for horses, cats and dogs, in the prevention and treatment of coronavirus. In making such a suggestion, it said it had relied on several studies.

Nevertheless, public health agencies believe that the existing data do not yet support this conclusion.

The dangers of ivermectin

Ivermectin is an effective anthelmintic for the treatment of parasitosis, especially scabies. This deworming agent for horses is usually in the form of a paste. It is administered orally with a syringe. It is a drug that offers effective protection against internal parasites and their larvae.

Although it is tolerable to administer a small dose to the human body, there are many side effects, including nausea, skin rashes and increased heart rate.

Taking a dose identical to that intended for a horse is therefore very dangerous, even fatal. Indeed, it can lead to convulsions, lung problems or even serious heart problems.

A treatment that the health authorities do not recommend

Unfortunately, the American Association of Poison Control Centers claims to have received a number of calls regarding intoxication due to ivermectin use.

People have ingested large doses of the drug in order to prevent and treat Covid-19. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) advises against this action, especially since the National Institutes of Health (NIH) currently refuses to support the use of deworming as a preventive and curative treatment for Covid-19.
