Kremlin: Putin decided to receive Corona virus vaccination

Moscow: Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Piskov said Sunday to official Russian Channel 1 that president Vladimir Putin will receive a vaccine (Sputnik Vi) to prevent Corona virus.

“he said that he would receive vaccination,” Beskov said on the channel’s Web site. “he has made this decision and awaits the completion of all formalities.”

Russia launched a program to vaccinate those who want a homemade sputnik vaccine in December, starting with the people most exposed to the virus infection.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobanin said on his website Sunday that those over 60 years old can apply for vaccination starting from tomorrow (Monday). This comes after the Ministry of Health declared Friday that the vaccine got an approval for the use of the elderly after a separate test.

Putin, 68, said earlier that the Russian vaccine is effective and safe, and that he does not see a reason for not receiving it, adding that he expects it to be available.

Putin has been working mainly remotely since the outbreak of the Corona virus in Russia, where meetings are held through limited video links and links.

He said in August that his daughter had participated in the clinical trial of the vaccine.
