A court ruling allowing Amazon to ban Parler's application
Seattle: The federal judge in the U.S. city of Seattle, Barbara Rothstein, ruled that Amazon could ban Barler Social Media's cloud service account.
Amazon's cloud computing department shut down the Barler application from its servers on 11 January as a result of what the Seattle-based tech giant described as an increase in violent content on that app, which has a mainly right-wing user base.
The Barler app immediately sued Amazon for re - entering Amazon Network Services, the company's digital infrastructure arm that operates a lot of online activities.
Judge Rothstein of the District Court sided yesterday with Amazon in part of her ruling that forcing the Seattle-based company to reboot the Parler Internet application was contrary to the public interest, bearing in mind "the type of abusive and violent content that we are dealing with in this case, especially in the light of the recent riots in the United States Capitol building."
