Users in China were unable to access the platform, according to the "Great Fire" organization Tuesday, the organization that tracks blocking Chinese applications and websites.

The app was banned after a heated discussion on the platform about political issues Beijing considers thorny, such as Hong Kong and Taiwan and the persecution of Uyghur Muslims in China.

Social networking sites, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, along with Google and many foreign media sites, have been blocked in China.

Chinese platforms such as "Weibo" and "WeChat" are also subject to heavy censorship.
