Major General Mohamed Kaidi participates in the meeting of the Joint Operations Staff Committee in Mali

A statement by the Ministry of National Defense said today, Wednesday, that Major General Muhammad Kaidi, head of the recruitment and preparation department of the People’s National Army, participated in a meeting on February 9 in Bamako in Mali in his capacity as a representative of Lieutenant General Saeed Shangriha, Chief of Staff of the People's National Army, at the invitation of Brigadier General Amro Deya, Chief of the General Staff of the Malian Armies.

The statement indicated that the meeting of the Chiefs of Staff of Mali, Algeria, Mauritania and Niger focused on studying and evaluating the security situation in the region and exchanging analyzes and lessons learned since the last meeting of the Chiefs of Staff Council of the member states of the Joint Operations Staff Committee, which was held on September 30, 2019 in Tamanrasset.


This meeting was also an opportunity to enrich and deepen the work of the Joint Operational Staff Committee and to hand over the chairmanship of the Council of Chiefs of Staff to the member states of the Joint Operational Staff Committee of Mauritania.


The statement added that Major General Muhammad Qaidi affirmed the keenness of the Supreme Command of the National People's Army to maintain the framework of cooperation represented by the Joint Operational Staff Committee, through which the Chiefs of Staff of the armies of the countries of the field freely exchange analyzes and opinions on issues related to the security field in our region.


He also stressed the need for concerted efforts within the framework of clear and frank cooperation between member states, based in particular on information exchange and coordination of actions on both sides of the border, depending, first, on the means and own forces.
