How to say Happy Birthday to your mom on May 30th?
Mother's Day is celebrated in May in most countries of the world. It is a beautiful tribute during which children spoil their mothers: noodle necklaces for the youngest, flowers, cakes or gifts, any kind of attention will honor and intensify the mother-child bond, and this at any age, so much so that a lucky grandmother will often be wished not only on Mother's Day, but also on Grandmother's Day!
The history of Mother's Day
The beginnings of this celebration can already be found in ancient Greece during the Spring rituals - which correspond to the months of fertility - which honored Rhea, the mother of the gods, and in particular that of Zeus. Roman religious festivals also followed to celebrate the matrons, then it was the English who, in the 15th century, established "Mothering Sunday" and finally the Americans who, at the beginning of the 20th century, instituted a Mother's Day as we know it today. They officially established a "Mother's Day" in memory of the mother of the schoolteacher Anna Jarvis who had expressed the wish that a day be dedicated to honor mothers, in memory of her own exemplary mother whom she cherished so much.
The country takes note from 1905, date of the death of the latter and more officially on May 9, 1914 followed closely by the United Kingdom the same year, then Germany in 1923, and many European countries shortly after.
In France, it was not until April 20, 1926 that Mother's Day received its true official recognition. In keeping with the French tradition of honoring large families, the government of Aristide Briand still called it "Mothers' Day of Large Families. This first official national ceremony was marked by the solemn awarding of French Family Medals to Mothers of Large Families, thus showing them the country's gratitude. It was not until after the war and the law of May 24, 1950 that an official tribute was paid to mothers every year during a day called "Mother's Day".
How to spoil your mom this Sunday, May 30?
If Anna Jarvis has long denounced the commercial nature of this holiday and worked to destroy florists or candy sellers accused of taking advantage of the situation, this holiday rhymes well with a commercial tradition during which children will consume to spoil their mothers. We have therefore found some ideas that will complement, for example, a pretty bouquet of flowers or a child's drawing.
If she is a gourmet, we offer her a box of ultra-feminine macaroons (vanilla, coconut, nougat, strawberry-champagne, strawberry-poppy, raspberry, blackcurrant-riotte - Maison Mulot), a delightful jar of macaroon-raspberry jam (Confiture Parisienne) or the latest creation of the mad chocolatier Patrick Roger, who has made soaps all made of chocolate to celebrate the sweetness of our moms Beware, everything can be eaten and soap doesn't really belong in the bathroom!
If she's a flirt, a home-made organic express manicure kit with Celidonia to take care of her nails all year round and say no more to cuticles (Marlay) and a Fizzy Mint perfume, a natural and crystalline citrusy water that freshly invites bergamot, crushed mint and lemony notes of verbena (Palazzo Nobile - Storie Veneziane by Maison Valmont).
If she is a fan of Chinese medicine, a Chi Nei Tsang belly treatment (Lanqi Spa), a branch of qi gong, which consists of a deep massage of the abdomen to release negative energy. This ancient Chinese practice allows us to reconnect with ourselves and regulate internal conflicts by stimulating our self-healing potential. A unique experience during which the therapist goes from the belly to the foot to release tensions.
If she is streetwear & casual chic, glamorous mismatched sneakers (Caval), Marbella sunglasses (François Pinton), a natural fiber hat (Sizal) or a cozy and delicate kimono with colorful prints (Bubble Mood).
If she's into organic, chromotherapy, aromatherapy and olfactotherapy (no less!), then without hesitation she'll need an Altearah box of natural cosmetics with essential oils. Oil, care and perfume according to a specific color code for a cosmetic approach turned towards emotions.
If she is beauty chic, we offer her Ingrid Millet caviar facials to give her features their most beautiful maternal expression. Did you know that in 1959, Madame Ingrid Millet was the first to discover the powerful anti-aging properties of caviar extracts and to find a way to incorporate them into skin care?
And finally, if she is unpredictable: a box with a thousand ideas among a wide choice: massage, stay in a star hotel, theater outing, microlight flight, yoga class, pendulum jump, gourmet dinner ... for her everything is possible and nothing is too good.
Happy birthday to all the mothers of the world!
