In the final days before he left the White House, Trump made sure that his family members had the best protection anywhere in the world without spending a single dollar.

The Washington Post reported that Trump extended a directive to ensure the protection of his four adult children and two of their spouses.

Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump and his wife, Lara, and Tiffany Trump will be protected for the next six months.

In addition to family members, the former president also extended protection for three members of his government: his former Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin, his Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and Robert C. O'Brien who was his National Security Advisor.

Under federal law, only Trump, his wife Melania and their 14-year-old son Barron were entitled to secret service protection after his term, the U.S. newspaper said.

Trump and his wife are entitled to lifetime protection, while Barron's protection will end on his 16th birthday.
