Argentine president tests positive for Covid-19
Argentine President Alberto Fernandez, who was vaccinated against Covid-19 with the Russian serum Sputnik V, is positive for the virus, his medical team confirmed Saturday after a PCR test.
"At the end of the day today (Friday, ed.), after I presented a fever of 37.3 and a slight headache, I was given an antigenic test with a positive result," Fernandez had said on his Twitter account on Friday.
The Presidential Medical Unit announced Saturday in an official statement that "the diagnosis of Covid-19 infection is confirmed by the positive PCR." "The clinical picture is mild, largely due to the protective effect of the vaccine received," it added.
