Every day a new discovery about the coronavirus. A study of the "Lancet Psychiatry" tells us that one patient out of three develops neurological or psychiatric disorders. 240 000 patients' files were studied. This is the largest publication on the long-term effects of Covid.
The study concluded that 17% of those surveyed suffered from anxiety and 14% from mood disorders. The effects of long Covid are more present in those who were hospitalized in intensive care with a higher risk of stroke and hemorrhage compared to patients who could stay at home.
A year ago, the coronavirus was unknown. Since then, the list of symptoms has been growing: fatigue, neurological disorders (cognitive, sensory, headaches), cardio-thoracic disorders (chest pain and tightness, tachycardia, dyspnea, coughing) and disorders of smell and taste.
"Pain, digestive and skin disorders are also frequent", lists the High Authority of Health (HAS). Muscle, tendon or joint pain, sleep disorders (especially insomnia), irritability, anxiety, abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, decreased or loss of appetite, pruritus, hives, pseudo frostbite, fever, chills: so many symptoms from which long Covid can suffer.
