George was a juror in a school singing competition at Eastern University where Claire was a first year student. He then introduced Claire to Vicor where she recorded a single, but after a single she was hired by Dyna Records where she recorded her hit song "Sayang". But even before Claire became very famous in the recording and entertainment industry, Canseco hired her to record a jingle for Hope cigarettes.
Didith Reyes, Imelda Papin and Eva Eugenio were almost as popular as Claire. When Didith disappeared from the scene, the popularity of Claire, Imelda and Eva began.
After "Sayang", Claire's hit songs such as "Nakaw na Sandali", "Minsan-Minsan", "Di Magbabago", "Unang Pag-ibig", "Ikaw ang Simula", "Sa Dulo of the Path", "I Need You" and so on.

In 2003 Claire returned to PUP to study Transport Management and completed her MBA at the University of Western Australia in 2005.
In 2008, she had the opportunity to work with the other half of The Carpenters Richard Carpenter on his international album "In Your Eyes". He also duetted with American singer-songwriter Michael Bolton on "The Christmas Song" which is included on his Christmas album on Viva Records.
Claire was married to Moises "Boy" de Guzman, who died in 2006. They have two children, Gregorio (Gigo) and Gracielo, both professionals.
As a businessman, Claire has not lost her problems and this includes her conviction for tax evasion in July 2020 and the most recent is her eldest son Gigo's involvement in the death of PAL flight attendant Christine Dacera after New Year's Day.
When Claire is still alive, she will do anything and everything for her two sons. She has been a single mother to them since her husband Boy passed away.
With Claire's passing, the songs she made famous from the late 70s to the 80s will live on in the hearts and minds of all.
