Florian Wirtz to Inherit Liverpool's Iconic Number 7 Shirt πŸ‘•

Liverpool have officially announced that new German sensation Florian Wirtz will wear the club's iconic number 7 shirt for the upcoming season. He takes the legendary number following the departure of Colombian star Luis DΓaz, who completed a move to Bayern Munich earlier this summer.

The number 7 is one of the most symbolic shirts in the club's illustrious history, having been famously worn by legends such as Kenny Dalglish, Kevin Keegan, and Luis SuΓ‘rez.

Wirtz, one of Europe's most exciting young talents, joined Liverpool in a record-breaking deal worth £116 million from Bayer Leverkusen. He is set to be a cornerstone of the team's midfield project for the 2025-2026 Premier League season and beyond.

The club also revealed the squad numbers for the rest of the summer signings. ✨ Hungarian international Milos Kerkez will take the number 6 shirt, while Jeremie Frimpong has opted for number 30, the same number he wore at Leverkusen. Striker Hugo Ekitike has been assigned the number 22.

There are also new numbers for the goalkeeping department, with Giorgi Mamardashvili taking number 25, Freddie Woodman number 28, and Armin Pici number 41.

The updated squad list also featured number changes for some of the club's rising stars. Young right-back Conor Bradley will now wear the number 12, and teenage prodigy Trey Nyoni has been given the number 42 shirt.

This all comes as the team prepares for the new season, which officially kicks off next week with the Community Shield clash against Crystal Palace at Wembley. πŸ—“️
